Mit SAP S/4HANA ist es möglich, Analytics direkt im transaktionalen System durchzuführen (Embedded Analytics) — für nahtlosen Zugriff auf Echtzeitdaten und schnelle, fundierte Entscheidungen.
Wir beschäftigen uns mit der Frage, welche Planungs-, Reporting- und Analyse-Anwendungen sich für eine Umsetzung direkt im SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics — ohne ein separates Business Warehouse (BW) betreiben zu müssen — anbieten. Und wie man „Embedded Analytics“ und SAP BW für das Beste aus beiden Welten integriert.
Um das Thema für unsere Kunden angreifbar und verständlich zu machen, entwickeln wir Praxisleitfäden und Showcases in unserer Demolandschaft.

Conversion eines bestehenden ECC 6.0 (auf HANA) nach S/4HANA
Aufgabenstellung: Mit der Änderung klassischer Geschäftsprozesse mussten Änderungen in den Quelltabellen erfolgen. Das hatte erhebliche Auswirkungen auf das Reporting: einerseits mussten CDS Views (die als Extraktoren dienen) als auch klassische Datasources angepasst werden. Auf Seite der klassischen Datasources waren wir mit Objekten konfrontiert, die unter S/4 nicht mehr supported werden (z. B. im Bereich Anlagenbuchhaltung), diese mussten durch neuere Datasources ersetzt werden. Eine weitere Herausforderung war, etwaige Feldlängenänderungen (z. B. Vertriebsbelegtyp oder Material) entsprechend in den BW-Objekten zu berücksichtigen.
Lessons Learned: Bei der Anpassung der CDS-Views haben wir die Erfahrung gemacht, dass die Verwendung der von SAP bereitgestellten Compatibility Views massiv negative Auswirkungen auf die Abfrageperformance mit sich brachte. Letztlich konnten wir das Problem aber lösen.
Fazit: Auf den ersten Blick scheint alles einfach zu sein, aber wie immer steckt der Teufel im Detail 😉
